Just Checkin' In

Sometimes life gets super wacky. You know how it is, like standing at the bottom of the mountain when a yodeler triggers the avalanche and all you can do is stand your ground and hope you don't get buried. No use in running, have to face it head on.
I will try and check in hopefully sooner than later to post the pictures I was promising and update you on my projects. Sorry Nona~ your clutch is felted. I can't wait to show you how cute it is.

Felting Wash

Here is my most recent felting wash. I will post pictures on Monday of all of the finished items. I did include here the Klean Kanteen cozies. They are a custom order and I am absolutely in love with them.
The weather is amazing in our little corner of the world right now and I am struggling with the urge to spend all of my time digging in the garden. I did get all my early planting finished today so now it is a waiting game until frost danger is over. Maybe I won't be so distracted by dirt and plants:-)

Just Key Bowls

A wonderful repeat customer requested a custom key bowl that would hold a single house key. Here it is! And I liked the idea so much that I am going to make more of them. It occurred to me that my parents even have a little dish in their front hall to drop your keys off in when you come to visit. They have a glass table so it makes sense. My mom will most likely be seeing one of these in her house soon. Here are the pictures, but go check out the etsy listings if you get a chance. The Red Bowl is reserved, but the Gray Bowl is up for grabs.
Cheers!

More on the Budding Artist

Felting Wash and Oh Hail!

The weather man said we would get precipitation... Isn't it too early in the season for thunder and hail? I am taking bets on what time today it will change over to snow. Any takers?
In fiber related news: I did run a felting wash this morning and am twiddling my thumbs awaiting my package from Web's. Cascade 220 is on sale! Who am I to resist such a magical animal? I should probably make sure it isn't sitting on my porch right now completely drenched. Most likely I will take a picture of my newly procured booty when it finally gets here.
In the meantime check out the work of my budding young artist. The orange part on the top right is the "scary guy" that he told us a long story about while he was working on the rest of the masterpiece. No, he didn't sign it by himself but he did help me. Enjoy!

Oak Bowls Continued and the Glade Guy

The Oak Bowls sold yesterday! Have I mentioned how much I adore my return customers?
I am running a felting wash today so there isn't a whole lot to report about fiber.
Oh! I did get my Drop spindle in the mail from Froggy Fibers yesterday: a fabulous Etsy seller and fellow Etsyfast member. It is a gorgeous canary yellow and she gave me some pretty chocolate brown wool to start with.

I also want to mention the awesome door-to-door salesman who visited me yesterday. First of all, I have a No Solicitors sign. He knocked, I didn't answer the door. He stood there forever so finally I opened it up and said "can I help you?" and the guy handed me a can of Glade air freshener. Before he could even explain his odd behavior I handed it back to him told him the truth: that we didn't use chemicals like that in our house and that we don't take solicitors. he tried to tell me he wasn't selling anything (this is what they all say now) and then something about testing out a new carpet cleaning system. I closed the door. I thought about showing him that he don't even have carpet in our house but I didn't want him to see anymore of what was inside.
So watch out when you open your door. Someone might shove some Glade at you.

Oak Bowls

I set out many of my bowls one evening and asked y husband to help me decide what to do with them. This Oak Set that I listed today in my Etsy Shop is by far my favorite! I will let Graham's pictures do the talking.
I do want to mention that I struggled with my shipping prices but have come to a decision. Although Priority Mail is more expensive, there is a certain measure of security that comes with it so I will be sending out all of my larger pieces via Priority from here on out.
Have a great Sunday! We are going to Grandma's today to play with clay and eat hot dogs.

Shout Out!

Chelsea over at eighty8words has a cute post on her blog yesterday AND she included my Japanese Anemone Bowl. She has actually asked if I would be a featured artist on her blog coming up here soon so keep your eyes peeled. There is a giveaway involved!
Thanks Chelsea~so glad you are feeling better!

Long Awaited New Items

Spring is such a difficult time. The sun is shining right now, it has to be at least 60 degrees out there. My garden is whispering to come and play. I obviously need to make a priority list. I think I will compromise by sitting in the sun and knitting.
A good friend of mine has commissioned a piece for her sister-in-law who is graduating college this month. Here it is just in time! I had fun making this custom piece! The needle-felted Om/vine design is done out of alpaca.
The second set of pictures is my Star bowl that I posted in my Etsy shop this morning. It is a gorgeous Orange with 6 golden yellow stars on the inside... Sometimes I wish I made things I didn't care for. Often it is really hard to let my creations free into the world.
Tomorrow I will be listing a bowl set on etsy that I am really pleased with so be sure and check back here.
Thanks for looking! I love feedback so comment away.

Treasuries

It is snowing/raining here today. Luckily Graham took some product pictures for me yesterday when it was sunny and 60 degrees. Have I mentioned that I love the unpredictable spring weather we have here in Colorado? Hopefully he will have them to me today or tomorrow and I will get to show you what I have been up to!
I am taking the indoor time to knit up some custom orders. I am particularly excited about the cozies for these Stainless Steel Sippy Cups. They are going to be so cool I can't wait to go and buy Seamus his stainless steel sippy cups so I can make him some as well. Drop me a line if you are interested as well.
My last order of business: if you get a chance, Please go check out the three treasuries I have been featured in on Etsy! If you have an account, leave a comment. The more views and comments left, the more traffic a treasury gets. They are all gorgeous one has a Royal Purple theme, another is absolutely gorgeous in shades of Gray and Purple and the last one is called Cold Warm Hot Cool. They only stay up for a couple of days so don't delay! Thanks ~*

This is how I found my son when I went in to wake him up. He had dumped out his basket of stuffed animals and yes, that is him underneath... He likes turtles, just didn't know he liked them this much:-)

Watch your back!

There is nothing like going through an entire day looking over your shoulder...or above you and let's not forget to watch where you are going too. Yeah, that's right! April Fool's Day and my friend Robert's birthday - Happy Birthday Robert!
In other news: the big boy bed seems to be a success and strangely enough he cried at lights out but did not get out of bed to come find us! All I can guess is that he didn't want to sleep in his bed as much as play in it and what right did I, his mother, have to tell him it was time to sleep!
AND he is taking naps again! So I am going to finish this post and go get to needle-felting. I have some great things coming up in the next few days and have gotten some creative custom orders on the board now too so watch out things are getting exciting around these parts!
Check out Etsy's new Waffles tab! Go ahead, you know you want to file a complaint about their lack of waffleness!
